Twin Tested: Dry Shampoo

 We have been using dry shampoo for the past two years. We have tried almost every kind out there and have finally narrowed it down to our favorites:
We are happy to report that our favorites are all under $6.99!

BROOKE'S PICK: got2b dry shampoo $5.99
Winner!!!
This stuff is great. It comes in a 4.3 oz. bottle and does not smell like chemicals.
I picked this up at the grocery store.
My hair honestly feels freshly washed - just with a little extra volume.

BRITTANY'S PICK: Suave Dry Shampoo $5.99
This stuff won my heart because not only does it work really well, it smells good and lasts a long time.
You can buy it at any grocery store.

B&B RUNNER UP: Batiste Dry Shampoo $6.99
This is a favorite for many of our friends and co-workers and definitely deserves a mention.
It works great and does not leave any kind of residue or sticky feeling in your hair.
You can pick it up at most grocery stores or Ulta.
{spray a few inches away from the scalp, then make sure to blend with fingertips}

 {Yes, I did try to spray everyone's hair in the office, including gorgeous Caitlin}
 Oscar Blandi Pronto Invisible Volumizing Dry Shampoo $20
I was super excited to try this CLEAR dry shampoo and it was a huge disappointment.
It did nothing to revitalize hair and left a somewhat sticky texture in my hair.
You can buy it at Sephora, but don't.
 Baby Powder is NOT Dry Shampoo.
I had high hopes for baby powder since it is definitely the cheapest option, but they were crushed.
It will not blend into your hair and you will smell like a baby's bum all day long
{not that bad I guess :)}
Dusting Powder is NOT Dry Shampoo.
You will get a very different result from using it, it is supposed to add grit and texture, so if you haven't washed your hair, it will feel pretty nasty.
If you need something that will hold your hair in an updo, this is the perfect choice.
Osio dust it mattifying powder $25.00
This stuff is pricey!
The bottle is only 0.35 oz. and it sticks in your hair like cement.

The invention of Dry Shampoo has saved us hours and hours of extra sleep, but just remember, you still have to shower every once in a while!

  1. My Mrs is a fan of the Pssst ... and as a bonus, I like to say, "Pssst."

  2. Oh bummer you didn't like baby powder! That is a staple in my bathroom! But... I will say, it would really only work for blondes... because it doesn't really blend but that is what I like... it lightens my hair on day two (most light blondes look a little darker day two or three :)

    Miss you girls! So fun to watch you and your adventures! xoxo

  3. Jeanette we have always been jealous of your gorgeous blonde hair! Pretty sure baby powder just makes us look like we are prematurely gray.

    You are a sweetheart :)

  4. I tried this after reading your blog and I think I am hooked! It takes so long to dry my hair so I love anything that gets me another day with a style!
